1. Troika Plus wants inclusive govt in Afghanistan

• The Troika Plus comprising Pakistan, China, Russia and the United States on November 11, 2021 called on the Taliban to take steps to form an inclusive and representative government in Afghanistan.
• A joint statement issued after a meeting of the Troika Plus here stressed that the representative government should protect the rights of all Afghans and provide equal opportunities to women and girls to participate in all aspects of Afghan society.
• It recalled relevant Afghan-related UNSC resolutions, including respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Afghanistan that is free of terrorism and drug-related crimes, and that contributes to regional stability and connectivity

2. NCOC approves two Chinese vaccines for children aged 12-18 years

• While 5.5 million teenage people have been vaccinated with American vaccine Pfizer, Pakistan on November 11, 2021 decided to start inoculating those in the age group of 12-18 years with two Chinese vaccines.
• The announcement was made by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on social media.
• `Chinese vaccines Sinopharm and Sinovac have been approved by the NCOC Health Experts Committee for administration to children above 12 years of age from Nov 15 onwards. Now, these vaccines will also be available in addition to already approved Pfizer for children above 12 yrs,` the NCOC tweeted.

3. Pakistan urges world to help stop rights violations in held Kashmir

• Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has called upon the international community to come forward to stop ongoing human rights violations in India-held Jammu and Kashmir and save the oppressed people from tyranny of the Indian occupation forces. He was addressing a joint press conference with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation`s (OIC) Special Envoy on Jammu and Kashmir Yousef Aldobeay on November 11, 2021.
• The foreign minister said continuous Indian aggression and barbarism in the occupied valley had indicted heavy loss on its economy.
• He said due to India`s illegal steps of August 5, 2019, the Kashmiris had suffered huge economic loss as it destroyed their tourism as well

4. Rizvi`s name removed from Fourth Schedule

• The Punjab government has deleted the name of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Hafiz Saad Rizvi from the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 with immediate effect.
• The Punjab home department has notified removal of Mr Rizvi`s name after his party TLP`s name was removed from the First Schedule as a proscribed organisation.
• The decisions of removing TLP`s name from Fourth Schedule and its chief Mr Rizvi`s name from the First Schedule have been taken after an agreement between the government and the TLP, the contents of which are still being kept secret.

5. Iran sending back thousands of Afghans, say aid agencies

• Iran is sending tens of thousands of Afghan migrants back to Taliban-ruled Afghanistan every week despite the threat of famine, aid agencies and witnesses say, with many Afghans alleging they have been mistreated by Iranian authorities.
• During decades of conflict, millions of Afghans have crossed into their western neighbour seeking to escape violence and a shattered economy.
• The Taliban takeover of Kabul in mid-August has compounded the crisis disrupting international aid flows just as a severe drought has left more than half of the population facing acute food shortages

6. Ariana Afghan Airlines begins flights from Kabul to Islamabad

• Ariana Afghan Airlines is beginning regular twice-weekly services from Kabul to Islamabad, the state-owned operator said on November 11, 2021, joining Kam Air which has begun flying five times a week between the two cities.
• Ariana, which began regular services to Dubai this week, will operate flights between Kabul and Islamabad on Thursdays and Mondays, charging $400 from Kabul and $100 from Islamabad.
• Earlier this week, privately owned Kam Air started services five times a week to Islamabad as international air traffic gradually reopens following the Taliban`s seizure of power in Kabul in August.

7. Global food trade to hit all-time high: UN report

• The global food trade could hit an all-time high in 2021-22, in both volume and value terms, says a UN report released on November 11, 2021.
• The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) reported that by the end of 2021, the global food import bill should extend beyond $1.75 trillion, marking a 14 per cent increase from the previous year. The UN agency pointed out that this would be 12 per cent higher than its previous forecast.
• In 53 countries households spend more than 60 per cent of their income on necessities such as food, fuel, water and housing, the report added

8. South Africa`s last apartheid era president E W. de Klerk dies

• South Africa`s last white president F. W. de Klerk died on November 11, 2021 at 85, with a legacy of helping steer the nation to democracy while never fully owning up to the horrors of the apartheid past.
• He died at home after a battle with cancer, his foundation said in a statement.
• De Klerk freed Nelson Mandela from prison, unbanned political parties, and later shared a Nobel Peace Prize with the anti-apartheid icon.

9. Heartbroken and bewildered, Pakistan lose by small margin

• Australia destroyed Pakistan`s hopes in a thrilling heavyweight contest in Dubai. Pakistan played their part, and showed why they have come so far in this tournament, but the bowling wasn`t quite at its best and that was enough to give Australia sight of victory.
• It was a painful defeat for Babar Azam`s team who looked invincible in this World T20, but the result proved once again that the team that peaks at the right time is the one that lifts the world cup.
• Pakistan can take many positives from this year`s competition, but there will be scrutiny on the pace bowlers that back up Shaheen Shah Afridi and on the players that must now replace Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik.

10. Matthews guides WI women to series win

• Hayley Matthews produced a fine all-round performance to guide the West Indies Women to an unassailable 2-0 series lead over Pakistan Women, after winning the second One-day International by 37 runs at the National Stadium on November 11, 2021.
• The West Indies, who were sent in to bat first, were dismissed for 153 runs off 45.4 overs, with opener Deandra Dottin leading the way with 34, while Matthews contributed 26. Captain Stafanie Taylor made 23 and Shemaine Campbelle was unbeaten on 23.
• Pakistan`s Fatima Sana took two wickets for 19 runs, while Anam Amin had 2-21 and Omaima Sohail 2-25.
• In reply, the hosts were bundled out for 116 in 39.2 overs as the West Indies took an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match ODI series.
