1. Specific proof of Indian terrorism in Pakistan unveiled

• Pakistan on November 14, 2020 made public a dossier containing `irrefutable proofs` of the Indian sponsorship of terrorism in Pakistan and called on the world to stop India`s rogue actions for saving the region`s peace and security.
• Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, accompanied by military spokesman Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar, while sharing salient features of the dossier with the media at a presser at the Foreign Office, emphasised that the world could not afford to ignore India`s `rogue behaviour` and said Pakistan reserved the right to defend itself in every possible way


2. Govt to bring Anti-Rape Ordinance next week

• Prime Minister Imran Khan November 14, 2020 announced to bring a stringent and holistic Anti-Rape Ordinance next week in a bid to close all the loopholes.
• Talking to Sindh Police Assistant Sub Inspector Mohammad Bux Buriro over phone, Imran Khan lauded him and his daughter for their exemplary initiative and courage in arresting the Kashmore rapist. The prime minister said that the nation is proud of ASI Mohammad Bux Buriro and her daughter for giving a positive uplift to the image of police.
• “The nation is proud of them and ASI Buriro has given positive uplift to the image of police”, said the Premier in his tweet. A young woman from Karachi was duped by three men who took her to Kashmore with the promise of a job


3. Gilgit-Baltistan goes to polls today

• As the clock struck 12, the time allotted for electioneering in Gilgit-Baltistan came to an end November 13, 2020 night, with the people all set to vote on November 15, 2020 (today).
• For those who didn’t stop campaigning, the region’s chief election commissioner warned of legal action for violating rules. He, however, also dismissed allegations of fraud and rigging by the opposition as ‘premature’ and ‘baseless’.
• A total of 745,361 voters will be voting for 23 constituencies at 1,160 polling stations. The region’s administration said at least 15,900 law enforcement personnel would be deployed for security purposes


4. Al-Qaeda’s number two secretly killed in Iran

• Al-Qaeda´s second-in-command, indicted in the US for the 1998 bombings of its embassies in Tanzania and Kenya, was secretly killed in Iran in August, foreign media reported.
• Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah, who was on the FBI´s list of most wanted terrorists, was shot and killed in Tehran by two Israeli operatives on a motorcycle at the behest of the United States, intelligence officials confirmed to media.
• The attack, which took place on August 7 on the anniversary of the Africa bombings, has not been publicly acknowledged by the US, Iran, Israel or Al-Qaeda


5. Armenia admits 2,317 soldiers dead in Karabakh conflict

• Armenia on November 14, 2020 said that more than two thousand fighters were killed in six weeks of clashes with Azerbaijan over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.
• “To date, our forensic service has examined the corpses of 2,317 dead servicemen, including unidentified ones,” Armenian health ministry spokeswoman Alina Nikoghosyan wrote on Facebook, recording an increase of nearly 1,000 deaths compared to the last confirmed death toll among Armenian fighters


6. Iran denies report Al-Qaeda No 2 killed in Tehran

• Iran on November 14, 2020 dismissed a US newspaper report that Al-Qaeda’s second-in-command was killed in Tehran by Israeli agents as “made-up information” and denied the presence of any of the Sunni militant group’s members in the Islamic republic.
• Iran’s foes, the United States and Israel, “try to shift the responsibility for the criminal acts of (Al-Qaeda) and other terrorist groups in the region and link Iran to such groups with lies and by leaking made-up information to the media”, foreign ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said in a statement


7. Egypt finds treasure trove of over 100 sarcophagi

• Egypt-Egypt announced Saturday the discovery of an ancient treasure trove of more than a 100 intact sarcophagi, the largest such find this year.
• The sealed wooden coffins, unveiled on site amid fanfare, belonged to top officials of the Late Period and the Ptolemaic period of ancient Egypt.
• They were found in three burial shafts at depths of 12 metres (40 feet) in the sweeping Saqqara necropolis south of Cairo.


8. First Pakistan athletes’ forum gets underway

• The first day of 1st Athletes Forum 2020 Pakistan being organised by Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) concluded here on November 14, 2020, where the participants witnessed message of International Olympic Association (IOC) President Thomas Bach.
• The organization of athlete centric forum delighted the IOC chief, who congratulated the POA and its Athletes Commission on the historic gathering of athletes. In his message, he said: “Athletes are not only at the heart, athletes are the heart of our Olympic community.” He appreciated NOC Pakistan for taking the lead in communicating about the implications of Athletes Declaration.

• Lahore Qalandars kept hopes of reaching their first final of the Pakistan Super League alive after Mohammad Hafeez guided them to a five-wicket victory in the Eliminator 1 clash at the National Stadium here on November 14, 2020 night.
• Lahore who had never progressed beyond the preliminary stage in all four previous editions will now take on Multan Sultans in Eliminator 2 on Sunday, with the winners of that match going through to Tuesday night`s final against Karachi Kings, who had earlier in the evening defeated Multan in the Super Over after their Qualifier had ended in a dramatic tie
