1. No way out of IMF loans anytime soon, says Shamshad

The government has deferred its plans to issue a $1.5 billion international bond, Caretaker Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar said on Thursday, stressing that the country will have to go for more IMF loan programmes for some time as the economy remains fragile.
Her remarks came a day after the government reached a staff level agreement with the International Monetary Fund on a nine-month bailout package


2. Pakistan re-elected to Unesco executive board

Pakistan has been successfully re-elected to the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation`s (Unesco) for the term 2023-2027.
Sources in the education ministry told Dawn that Pakistan has been re-elected at the elections held on Wednesday during the 42nd Session of the General Conference in Paris. They said that the Asia-Pacific Group was hotly contested, with nine candidates running for six seats. Pakistan secured the highest number of votes (157) in the group, as they received more votes than in 2019, which were 154 votes


3. Telecom infrastructure sharing framework approved

Telecom infrastructure sharing framework (TISF) has been approved by the federal government, that provides regulatory mechanism for licensees to share their active as well as passive telecom infrastructure in a fair and competitive manner.
The approval of the telecom infrastructure sharing framework is expected to be a major step forward for the growth and sustainability of telecom sector in Pakistan, said Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in a statement

5. Governor announces KMU campus in Dera

Governor Haji Ghulam Ali on Thursday announced the establishment of a campus of Peshawar`s Khyber Medical University in Dera Ismail Khan district.
He made the announcement during the fifth convocation of Gomal Medical College here.
The governor said the establishment of a KMU campus in Dera Ismail Khan was direly needed. He directed the university`s vice chancellor and divisional commissioner to resolve issues related to it within a month

6. Comms blackout in Gaza as Israel `captures` port
