Swell (verb) بڑھنا، پھولنا، سوجنا

(especially of a part of the body) become larger or rounder in size, typically as a result of an accumulation of fluid.
Example: “her bruised knee was already swelling up”
Synonyms: expand, bulge, distend, become distended, inflate, become inflated, dilate, become bloated
Antonyms: shrink, contract


Widen (verb) چوڑا ہونا، کشادہ کرنے کاعمل

make or become wider.
Example: “we should widen the scope of our investigation”
Synonyms: broaden, make/become wider, open up, open out, spread, expand, extend
Antonyms: narrow, restrict, limit


Subdued (adjective) کچلنا، زیر کرنا، دبانا، محدود رکھنا

(of a person or their manner) quiet and rather reflective or depressed.
Example: “I felt strangely subdued as I drove home”
Synonyms: sombre, low-spirited, downcast, sad, dejected, depressed, low, gloomy, despondent
Antonyms: lively, cheerful, loud, noisy


Revamp (verb) تجدید کرنا، اختلاف پھر سے دور کرنا

give new and improved form, structure, or appearance to.
Example: “an attempt to revamp the museum’s image”
Synonyms: renovate, redecorate, refurbish, recondition, rehabilitate, rebuild, reconstruct
Antonyms: fix, freeze, set, stabilize

Betray (verb) دھوکہ دینا، غداری، دغا دینا

Shrug (verb) سمٹنا، نظر انداز کرنا

raise (one’s shoulders) slightly and momentarily to express doubt, ignorance, or indifference.
Example: “Jimmy looked enquiringly at Pete, who shrugged his shoulders”
Synonyms: disregard, dismiss, take no notice of, ignore, set aside, pay no heed to, forget
Antonyms: repose, rest


Ostensibly (adverb) بادی النظر میں ، بظاہر

as appears or is stated to be true, though not necessarily so; apparently.
Example: “the party secretary resigned, ostensibly from ill health”
Synonyms: apparently, seemingly, on the face of it, to all appearances, on the surface, to all intents and purposes
Antonyms: genuinely, really, truly
