With CSS Exams approaching in few months, the number of times I get this question, daily, is huge.
It is such a vague question and has no answer from my side. Instead, I can tell you what CSS depends upon and if you can get that in 3 years or in 3 months, you’re good to go!
1. BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE
The timeline depends upon your BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE. If you generally have a know-how about world & history and you read already, it takes less time. Already present analytical skills help. On the other hand, if you’re at level zero, it’d take a lot more time for you to develop the requisite knowledge and make opinions about events.
2. PROFICIENCY IN ENGLISH
It depends upon your current level of PROFICIENCY IN ENGLISH. If you already are good at reading & writing with satisfactory vocabulary and fine written expression, you don’t have to invest a lot of time in practicing Essay and précis and their patterns.
3. STUDY PACE
It clearly depends upon YOUR STUDY PACE. Some can learn faster than the others so, obviously, preparation time would be different for everyone.
4. STUDY METHOD
Your Study Method, of course, plays a role. Some like to read, read and read. And some feel confident with making notes. And some like me, interestingly, watch videos and feel content lol. My point is, there is no right or wrong way to study. It differs from case to case. Choose whatever method suits you better.
5. CSS GUIDANCE
The CSS course is huge and if you’re studying on your own, you get distracted in the most interesting things. So your preparation time is very much dependent upon your GUIDANCE, be it an academy, any teacher, friend; whoever your mentor is. Knowing where to start and where to stop is necessary.
These, 5 factors, I consider are prerequisite to know how long you need to study for CSS!
I hope you get your answer.
THERE ARE NO GOLD STANDARDS;
So choose whatever suits you!
Find what suits you,
YOURSELF!
Good luck!
If you have any more Question regarding CSS, put them in the comments, I shall get back to you there.
