Pretext (noun) بہانہ، عذر کرنا، حیلہ کرنا

a reason given in justification of a course of action that is not the real reason.
Example: “the rebels had the perfect pretext for making their move”
Synonyms: excuse, false excuse, ostensible reason, alleged reason, plea, supposed grounds
Antonyms: actuality, candor, fact, frankness


Lambast (verb) درے لگانا، کوڑے مارنا

criticize (someone or something) harshly.
Example: “they lambasted the report as a gross distortion of the truth”
Synonyms: criticize, castigate, chastise, censure, condemn, take to task, harangue, attack
Antonyms: approve, endorse (also indorse), sanction
