About CSS Exams:

CSS (Central Superior Service) in Pakistan is the government service. Those who want to have a job in the governmental ambit have to appear in high level competitive exam called as CSS which is taken by the Federal Public Service Commission. It is one of the most popular and tough category of test in Pakistan and has the following sections:

  • Written Examination
  • Medical Examination
  • Psychological Assessment
  • Viva Questions

Scope and Jobs

After achieving highest marks in the test, employment scopes of the professional candidates increase excessively. They can do government jobs with having excellent Basic Pay Scale ranging from BPS 17-22. This criteria is setup by the government of Pakistan for selecting payment packages of their employees. Their salaries start from Rs. 25,440 and can be upto Rs. 136, 720.

After the submission of fee for exam, the next step is the preparation for the exam courses. The six compulsory subjects which contain 100 marks each are named as Essay, English (Précis & Composition), Everyday Science, Current Affairs, Pakistan Affairs, and Islamiyat as well.

The optional course can chose from any group, extending from A to I given below. Each optional course carries either 100 or 200 marks as well as the courses chosen for from each group must not top a total of 200 marks. The groups are different in their course that’s why the aspirants from all educational backgrounds can apply as well as prepare for the CSS exams. The applicants are required to select total 600 marks subjects of optional subjects. For example, group A comprises of the humanities courses; group B comprises of courses pertaining to social sciences, group C for mathematics and statistics as well while the Group H for languages.

  • The applicants who want to appear in the test must be
  • Having done at least Bachelors degree from HEC recongnized Institute.
  • Their marks must be minimum 45% (Minimum 2nd Division / 2.0 CGPA / C Grade).
  • Their age must be within 20-30 years.

Candidates should submit applications to the Secretary of Federal Public Service Commission with the copies of their authentic educational documents and deposit the fees in the National Bank of Pakistan or any other government bank. Applicants show have the following documents while submitting application and appearing for the exams

Original CNIC.

Receipt of the Fee Submitted to any National Bank or related authority.

Attested educational copies, two photographs, and experience certificates if they have any.

Applications can be submitted online and also in the form of hardcopy to the office of FPSC within 10 days of announcement. Check official website for more details.

Candidate have to submit Rs. 2200 as the application fee to the banks.

The following fees must be paid by the candidates:

To the Federal Public Service Commission.

Rs. 1500/- for all candidates.

Rs. 100/- for each representation/review petition which a candidate wants to submit against his/her rejection.

Rs.200/- per paper as fee for rechecking/recounting of marks.

The procedure for the payment of this fee is given in the “Instructions to candidates” which have been printed separately and a copy of which is attached with the Application form.

To the Medical Board.

Rs. 50/- to be deposited by all the candidates in the Government Treasury/ State Bank of Pakistan under Head of Account “1252—Health MISC MEDICAL (CENTRAL)”. The original copy of the Treasury challan should be handed over to the President of the Central Medical Board at the time of Medical Examination.

Rs. 300/- before examination by a Medical Board in the case of candidates who qualify in the written examination. Payment of this fee will be required to be made in cash to the Medical Board concerned at the time of Physical Examination of the candidates. Candidates will present their National Identity Cards & Admission Certificate to the Medical authorities concerned.

Candidates must see by reference to the rules and must decide definitely before depositing the fee in the Treasury/Bank that they are eligible in all respects to apply for the examination. Fee once deposited in the Treasury/Bank will not be refunded, nor will it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection under any circumstances.

This issues with the approval of the Government.

CSS Exams are Central Superior Services Exams which are held annually in different cities of Pakistan. Datasheet for the exams come three months before the start of papers. They are held in the month of February and result of it comes after examination.
