6. Nadra signs Sehat Sahulat deal with ministry

• The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has signed an agreement with Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination for swift service delivery to health card holders.
• Nadra will provide a `centralised information management system` for permanent residents of Punjab to benefit from the Sehat Sahulat programme.
• The agreement was signed by Nadra officials and health authorities of federal and Punjab governments at the Nadra headquarters.
• The system will enable the people of Punjab to avail free healthcare services by using the computerised national identity card as a health card at authorised government and private hospitals


7. US top court allows prayers at school premises

• Conservative judges of the US Supreme Court acted again on Monday, this time reinterpreting a constitutional amendment that prevents government officials from publicly displaying their faith at the workplace.
• At issue was whether a public-school employee praying alone but in view of students was a violation of the First Amendment of the US Constitution, which forbids a government and its employees from publicly displaying their religious preferences.
• The First Amendment`s Establishment Clause prohibits the government from making any law `respecting an establishment of religion.` The clause also prohibits government actions that unduly favor one religion over another. A government employee praying at a government property is also considered a violation of this clause


8. Qatar to host indirect Iran-US talks on N-deal revival

• Qatar will host indirect talks between Iran and the United States in coming days, Iranian media reported on June 27, 2022, amid a push by the European Union to break a months-long impasse in negotiations to reinstate a 2015 nuclear pact.
• `Iran has chosen Qatar to host the talks because of Doha`s friendly ties with Tehran,` Mohammad Marandi, a media adviser to Iran`s top nuclear negotiator, told the ISNA news agency.
• Iran`s Tasnim news agency, quoting an unnamed foreign ministry source, reported that Iran`s chief nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri would visit Qatar on Tuesday for `negotiations on lifting sanctions`, and that the US-Iranian indirect talks would be held there


9. G7 vows to stand by Ukraine `for as long as it takes`

• The Group of Seven club of wealthy nations on June 27, 2022 vowed to stand by Ukraine `for as long as it takes`, promising to tighten the squeeze on Russia`s finances with new sanctions that include a proposal to cap the price of Russian oil.
• The announcement came after Ukraine`s President Volodymyr Zelensky, addressing G7 leaders at their summit in the Bavarian Alps via a video link, asked for weapons and air defences to gain the upper hand in the war against Russia within months.
• Zelensky also urged the world powers to do their utmost to help end Russia`s invasion by the end of the year.
• The G7 statement aimed to signal that its members were ready to back Ukraine for the long haul, at a time when soaring inflation and energy shortages fuelled by Russia`s invasion have tested the West`s sanctions resolve.


10. Missile strike on crowded mall kills 10 in Ukraine

• A Russian missile strike on a crowded mall in the central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk killed at least 10 people and injured more than 40 on Monday, a regional governor said.
• `Ten dead and more than 40 people have been injured.
• This is currently the situation in Kremenchuk due to the missile strike,` said Dmytro Lunin, the governor of the Poltava region where Kremenchuk is located.
• Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said `over a thousand civilians` were in the mall when the missiles struck the city, which had a pre-war population of 220,000 people
