6. Ukraine raises $13m in crypto after crowdfunding appeal

• Ukraine`s government has raised cryptocurrency worth almost $13 million after posting appeals on social media for donations of bitcoin and other digital tokens, data from blockchain analysis firm Elliptic showed.
• Ukraine`s official Twitter account made the appeal for cryptocurrency donations on Saturday following the country`s invasion by Russia, posting digital wallets addresses for tokens including bitcoin and ether.
• `Stand with the people of Ukraine. Now accepting cryptocurrency donations, Ukraine`s Vice-Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, who is also minister of digital transformation, wrote on Twitter


7. Ukraine applies to join European Union

• Ukraine`s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he has signed an application for Ukraine to join the European Union.
• The action comes five days after Russia invaded its smaller neighbour, touching off widespread international condemnation and offers of military assistance from the 27-member nation EU and elsewhere.
• Andrii Sybiha, head of Zelenskyys office, said on his official Facebook page that the documents are on the way to Brussels.
• Photos of Zelenskyy were posted in Facebook. He was flanked by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and chairman of the parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk


8. Iran says key issues unresolved in Vienna nuclear talks

• Iran said efforts to revive a 2015 nuclear deal could succeed if the United States took a political decision to meet Tehran`s remaining demands, as months of negotiations enter what one Iranian diplomat called a `now or never` stage.
• The stakes are high, since the failure of 10 months of talks would carry the risk of a fresh regional war and the imposition of additional harsh sanctions on Iran by the West.
• Iran`s foreign ministry spokesman identified the remaining outstanding issues as: the extent to which sanctions would be rolled back, providing guarantees that the United States will not quit the pact again, and resolving questions over uranium traces found at several old but undeclared sites in Iran


9. Muslims are victims of blasphemy law as well: Archbishop Welby

• Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby said though there was a clear commitment by the Pakistani government to religious freedom and belief, minorities of all sorts, and also the Muslim majority, remained suppressed in their daily lived experience.
• `There are very clear misuses, as is recognised, of the blasphemy law against minorities; however most of the misuses well over 50pc are Muslims misusing it against Muslims,` Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby said during an interview with Dawn.
• The archbishop is visiting Pakistan to express support to the Christian community, meet national leaders and highlight the importance of maintaining good relations between different faiths in Pakistan


10. Sporting bodies move to ban Russia amid invasion of Ukraine

• International sports bodies moved to further isolate Russia for its invasion of Ukraine and pushed Moscow closer to becoming a pariah on the playing field.
• The International Olympic Committee urged sports bodies to exclude Russian athletes and officials from international events, including football`s World Cup.
• Athletes from Ukraine and other nations had called on the IOC to take action after Russia launched its invasion by land, air and sea last week following a declaration of war by President Vladimir Putin.
