• A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) trainer aircraft crashed near Mianwali during a routine training mission on May 25, 2022.
• The pilot ejected safely and no loss of life or property was reported on the ground, a PAF news release said.
• A board of inquiry has been ordered by the Air Headquarters to determine the cause of the incident, it said


7. Pakistan, France agree to strengthen trade ties

• The US point man on Iran warned on May 25, 2022 of uncertain prospects for reviving a nuclear deal and said Tehran would face a new pressure campaign if it clung to its demands.
• Rob Malley, who has led more than a year of indirect talks with Iran in Vienna, nonetheless told Congress that President Joe Biden`s administration still supported the 2015 nuclear accord and was ready to lift sanctions if it secures an agreement with Tehran.
• `We do not have a deal with Iran and prospects for reaching one are, at best, tenuous,` Malley was to tell the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, according to prepared testimony.


9. Israel, Turkey looking to expand economic partnership

• Turkish and Israeli foreign ministers said on May 25, 2022 their countries were hoping to expand economic ties as they seek an end to more than a decade of strained relations.
• Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu is on the second-day of a two-day trip to Israel and the Palestinian territories, the first such visit by a senior Turkish official in 15 years.
• `The goalis to form and expand economic and civil cooperation between our countries,` Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid said in a statement alongside Cavusoglu in Jerusalem, `and to leverage our two countries` comparative advantages regionally and globally, even during the pandemic, and even in times of political tension
