7. Turkish legislature to vote on Sweden`s Nato membership this week
Turkiye`s parliament is expected to end more than a year of delays that severely strained its ties with Western allies and approve Sweden`s membership of Nato this week.
CNN Turk said a vote could be held as early as Tuesday while a source said that it might be held on Thursday.
Turkey`s ratification would leave Hungary as the last holdout in an accession process that Sweden and its neighbour Finland began in response to Russia`s invasion of Ukraine nearly two years ago. Finland became the 31st member of the US-led defence alliance last April
8. US sanctions airline, Iraqi militia leaders after attacks on troops
The United States announced sanctions on Monday on Iraqi low-cost airline Fly Baghdad, saying it provided assistance to Iran`s Revolutionary Guards and proxies, while also targeting leaders of a pro-Iranian Iraq militia for sanctions.
The moves come as Iraq`s powerful pro-Iranian armed group Kataeb Hezbollah has `carried out a series of sharply escalating drone and missile attacks against US personnel in Iraq and Syria,` said the US Treasury Department in a statement
9. Families of prisoners interrupt Israeli parliament to demand their release
Relatives of Israeli prisoners in Hamasruled Gaza interrupted a parliamentary meeting on Monday, demanding the government take urgent action to get them released.
The group broke into a meeting of the Knesset`s finance committee, chanting `everybody and now` to urge the return of all hostages. `You sit here while our children are dying over there,` Gilad Korngold, father of Tal Shoham, yelled, a correspondent reported

The World Health Organisation chief fears plans for a global pandemic preparedness agreement will fall apart amid wrangling and disinformation, warning on Monday that future generations `may not forgive us`.
