1. IMF blames Dar, Tarin for derailing programme
• Describing the failed four-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) as a `missed opportunity`, the IMF blamed both the PTI and PDM, particularly under the economic stewardship of Shaukat Tarin and Ishaq Dar, for irresponsible budgetary expansion and exchange rate interventions, respectively.

• A day after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) asked for the removal of caretaker provincial minister Shahid Khattak amid reports of his addressing a public meeting of the Awami National Party (ANP), Mr Khattak resigned from his portfolio citing `personal commitments`.
• `It is stated that I am unable to continue as caretaker provincial minister due to some personal commitments. Therefore, I would like to tender resignation from my portfolio with immediate effect henceforth,` Mr Khattak`s resignation read
3. `N` proposes Dar as interim PM, but PPP disagrees
• As PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif intends to see party stalwart and confidant Ishaq Dar as the interim prime minister, the PPP has expressed strong reservations saying a `man from the Sharif family` is not suitable to lead the `neutral` setup.
• However, PML-N started efforts on Sunday to take all stakeholders on board, including the military establishment and assuage the concerns of the PPP leadership. Both PPP and PML-N want to see a politician steer the caretaker government to avert any move to delay polls. The ruling party is likely to make an official announcement after convincing the allies
4. World Bank extends solar project`s closing date
• The World Bank has extended the closing date of the Sindh Solar Energy Project (SSEP) from September 2023 to July 2025 since the implementation of the project approved in 2022 remained unsatisfactory.
• The project has been significantly delayed for several reasons, including a two-year delay in appointing a full-time Project Management Unit (PMU), the impact of Covid-19, the 2022 floods and the weak capacity of the PMU.
5. Ruling Socialists, conservatives tied in Spain`s elections
• No one party or bloc would win an outright majority in Spain`s snap general election, according to preliminary results with 50 per cent of votes counted on Sunday, and the ruling Socialist Party (PSOE) slightly ahead for parliamentary seats at 131.
• The conservative Peoples Party was just behind at 130 seats.
