1. Crackdown on `illegal` migrants gets underway
As Pakistan launched a nationwide crackdown on undocumented immigrants in the wake of the expiry of the deadline, more than 7,300 refugees, including over 100 prisoners, were deported on Wednesday via the Torkham border crossing.

2. Punjab govt imposes `smog emergency` after LHC order
The Punjab caretaker government has imposed a `smog emergency` in the province following the Lahore High Court`s direction to take immediate measures to control hazardous air quality.
`The smog emergency has been enforced across Punjab and wearing a mask is mandatory for students in all public and private schools for one month, caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said while presiding over a meeting to take stock of the situation following the court`s order about smog on Wednesday
3. Six terrorists killed in Zhob operation: ISPR
At least six terrorists were killed in a heavy exchange of gunfire between security forces and outlawed elements during an intelligence-based operation in the Sambaza area of Zhob district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
The ISPR statement said that on the night of Oct 31, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Sambaza, Zhob district, on the reported presence of terrorists
4. Govt launches web portal to promote trade
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Wednesday launched an online government-business communication platform, GoBiz Connect, insisting that the initiative will help increase coordination and communication between government departments and business community and thus, promoting trade and commercial activities in the province.

5. Pakistan needs $340bn to meet climate challenges, says Akhtar
Caretaker Finance Minister Dr Shamshad Akhtar said on Wednesday Pakistan is facing a tradeoff between raising climate finance and development finance.
`I think we need to be conscious that getting money is a big issue that we face in addressing the climate agenda, she said, noting that seeking money for climate finance undercuts other development finance requirements
