6. 24 dead at Al Shifa as `hideout` claim falters
The Gaza health ministry said on Friday that 24 patients at a hospital in the war-torn enclave had died within 48 hours due to power outages, as Israeli forces searched the complex for Hamas hideouts.
The situation was dire at the Al-Shifa hospital, the largest in Gaza, which Israel`s army said it was searching for a third day for suspected hideouts of fighters from the Hamas` armed wing.

7. Five countries seek ICC investigation into Gaza war
Five countries, including South Africa and Bangladesh, on Friday called for an International Criminal Court investigation into the war on Gaza, which has left thousands of dead, its chief prosecutor said.
Amid international concern over the growing toll, the demand was made as families of some of the Israelis taken prisoner by Hamas also sought ICC action

President Mohamed Muizzu of the Maldives vowed on Friday to expel Indian troops deployed in the strategically located archipelago, in his first speech to the nation after being sworn into power.
Muizzu, 45, did not name India but promised he would deliver on his election promises, key among them a pledge to evict some 50 to 75 Indian security personnel
10. Myanmar govt uses air, naval power to retake port from guerillas
Myanmar`s military has launched attacks from the air and the sea to recapture a port town on the Bay of Bengal, an opposition alliance said on Friday, as junta forces face the fiercest offensive in years.
The military, which seized power from an elected government in a 2021 coup, is battling a coordinated offensive launched last month by an alliance of three ethnic minority groups, as well as allied pro-democracy fighters who have taken up arms since the coup.
