6. Israeli troops invade Gaza
Israeli ground forces mounted an invasion of Gaza in the early hours of Thursday, amid growing anger across the Arab world over Tel Aviv`s relentless bombardment of the besieged Palestinian enclave.
According to the Israeli army radio, this was its military`s biggest incursion into northern Gaza since Oct 7.

8. Qatar sentences 8 Indians over `spying for Israel`
A Qatari court has announced the death penalty for eight Indians arrested in the country last year on the charges of spying on the Gulf state`s submarine programme for Israel.
New Delhi said in a statement that it attaches `high importance to this case` and will `take up the verdict with Qatari authorities`.
Local media has reported that the eight men, who worked with a private company in Qatar, were arrested for spying in August 2022, but this news agency could not independently confirm the charges
9. China launches new mission to space station
China sent a fresh crew to its Tiangong space station on Thursday, in the latest mission for a growing space programme that plans to send people to the Moon by 2030.
The Shenzhou-17 blasted off from the Jiuquan launch site in northwest China at 11:14am, carrying a three-astronaut team with the youngest average age since the space station`s construction
