1. `Pakistan no stranger to Indian machinations`

  • Pakistan`s top diplomats on Wednesday welcomed Western scrutiny of India`s subversive activities on foreign soil, saying that the country was no stranger to its neighbour`s machinations.

3. Pakistan to seek `climate justice` at COP28: PM

  • Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has informed world leaders that Pakistan will seek climate justice and financial support at the United Nations climate conference (COP28), which will be held in Dubai in December this year.
  • The prime minister underlined Pakistan`s grievances at two summit meetings in New York on the sidelines of the 78 UN General Assembly, which began on Tuesday

4. Interim health minister decides to set up `Pharma Park`

  • Caretaker Health Minister Dr Nadeem Jan on wednesday said the interim government has started negotiations with stakeholders to set up a `Pharma Park` in Pakistan which would potentially reduce the prices of medicines as well as increase the capacity of the local industry.
  • According to the interim minister, the `Pharma Park` aimed to start the production of molecules locally instead of importing them in a bid to reduce the strain on foreign exchange reserves

5. ADB trims growth outlook amid lingering uncertainty

  • While the South Asian region will be growing at 5.4 per cent and maintaining singledigit inflation (at 6.6pc), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) forecasts Pakistan limping at 1.9pc growth rate and its population will continue reeling under elevated cost of living, reflected by a 25pc rate, during the current fiscal year.
    In its flagship Asian Development Outlook (ADO) released on Wednesday, the ADB lowered the growth rate and increased the inflation outlook for Pakistan
