1. Seven FC men martyred in Harnai terrorist attack

• At least seven security personnel have been martyred in an attack by terrorists on a Frontier Corps check post in the areas of Sharag coal mines in Balochistan`s Harnai district.
• A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the incident happened on Saturday night.
• `Heavy exchange of fire took place between FC personnel and terrorists, during which seven brave soldiers, including a Naib Subedar, embraced Shahadat while repulsing raiding terrorists,` said the ISPR.

2. Pakistan affirms resolve to deal with all diseases

• Pakistan on December 27, 2020 expressed its firm resolve to strengthen national mechanisms and capacities, as well as global partnerships for robust health systems, to prevent and respond to all diseases and epidemics.
• On the first International Day of Epidemic Preparedness commemorated on Sunday, the Foreign Office spokesperson said in a press release that the day also reminded of the importance of reducing poverty, inequality and of achieving sustainable development for all, by targeted interventions and investments in health, education, environment and water and sanitation, with a view to combating all diseases and epidemics, including the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic

• There are as many as 12 National Assembly constituencies in three provinces of the country where the percentage of women voters is less than 41 per cent.

• The fate of the bipartisan package remained in limbo on Sunday as Trump continued to demand larger Covid relief cheques and complained about pork spending. Without the widespread funding provided by the massive measure, a government shutdown would occur when money runs out at 12:01am on Tuesday
