6. Homegrown app to replace Whatsapp
• Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Syed Aminul Haque launched the pilot of Pakistan`s first ever communication application `Beep Pakistan` on Monday. The app would be accessible to general public after a year.
• The Beep Pakistan application is a local version of global voice, text and video sharing platform Whatsapp and it has been developed by National Information Technology Board (NITB)
7. Rahul is MP again after suspension revoked
• Congress leader Rahul Gandhi`s Lok Sabha membership suspension was revoked on Monday.
• His status as the MP from Kerala`s Wayanad was restored after the Lok Sabha Secretariat issued a notification in the wake of the Supreme Court staying his conviction in a defamation case.
• As per the notification by the Lok Sabha, `the suspension ceases to operate subject to further judicial pronouncements`
8. Hindus, Muslims clash in Haryana as trouble spreads
• Hindus and Muslims have clashed in the Indian state of Haryana a week after violence erupted during a Hindu procession in a Muslim neighbourhood, with a tomb and several vehicles torched and shops ransacked, police said on Monday.
• At least seven people have been killed in the clashes, including the cleric of a mosque set on fire last week in the district of Gurugram
9. Four Syrian troops killed in Israeli air strikes
• Four Syrian soldiers and two Iran-backed fighters were killed on Monday in pre-dawn Israeli strikes near Damascus, a war monitor said, in the latest deadly Israeli air raid to hit wartorn Syria`s capital.
• The air strikes targeted Syrian regime forces, and military positions and weapons depots used by armed groups supported by Tehran, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights
10. Two more US warships enter Red Sea
• More than 3,000 United States military personnel have arrived in the Red Sea aboard two warships as part of a `beefed up response` from Washington after tanker seizures by Iran, the US Navy said on Monday.
• The deployment adds to a growing US military buildup in tense Gulf waterways vital to the global oil trade and led Tehran on Monday to accuse the US of `inflaming regional instability`
