6. KP chief minister picks 12-strong new cabinet
Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mohammad Azam Khan on Friday picked his new cabinet comprising nine ministers and two advisers and a special assistant to him.
The administration department is yet to notify the caretaker cabinet having four members from the last. The oath-taking ceremony is likely to take place today (Saturday).

7. Sweden considers allowing police to stop desecration of Holy Quran
Sweden`s government is considering changing the Public Order Act to make it possible for police to deny permission for acts such as desecrating the Holy Quran, but only if they threaten national security, it said on Friday.
Sweden raised its terrorist alert to the second highest level on Thursday, saying it had thwarted attacks after several incidents of the desecration of Holy Quran outraged Muslims and triggered threats from militants
8. Russia has lost 120 troops in Ukraine, says NYT
THE number of Ukrainian and Russian troops killed or wounded since the war in Ukraine began in Feb 2022 is nearing 500,000, the New York Times reported on Friday, citing unnamed US officials.
The officials cautioned that casualty figures remained difficult to estimate because Moscow is believed to routinely undercount its war dead and injured, and Kyiv does not disclose official figures, the newspaper said.
