1. UNGA adopts Pakistan`s proposals on disarmament, global security
The UN General Assembly has adopted four resolutions proposed by Pakistan, aimed at advancing nuclear disarmament and bolstering global security measures.
Two of these resolutions garnered unanimous support, while the others received overwhelming approval, marking a significant step towards fostering regional and global stability and reflecting widespread support for Pakistan`s stance on these critical issues
2. Four children among six hurt in Peshawar IED blast
Six persons, including four children, suffered injuries when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded with a bang on the busy Warsak Road here on Tuesday morning.
Three of the victims are brothers, police said SSP Operations Kashif Abbassi informed media persons that the IED was planted in the cemented block at medium of the Warsak Road near Peshawar Public School and College. `Apparently the police van of the Michani Gate police station was the target, which passed through the blast site just a few seconds before the explosion,` he said
3. Nishan-i-Pakistan awarded to Syedna Mufaddal
President Dr Arif Alvi on Tuesday conferred the civil award of Nishan-i-Pakistan on Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the head of the Dawoodi Bohra community, in recognition of his services for Pakistan in the field of spiritual guidance and social services.
The award was conferred at a special investiture ceremony held at the Aiwan-i-Sadr
4. Emergency registration of critical medicines okayed
As medicines for the treatment of cancer, epilepsy, diabetes, hypertension, etc are either scarce or unavailable in the country, the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) has decided to allow emergency registration of medicines on emergency basis.
