1. Electoral gender gap falls below 10m after a decade

As the number of voters across Pakistan swells to over 128 million per the latest statistics, the electoral gender gap for the first time in a decade has reduced to less than 10 million, with at least 59.32 million women (46.13pc) registered as voters compared to 69.26 million men (53.87pc).
An analysis of the data by Dawn showed that out of the total gender gap of 9.94m, Punjab contributes a although men still outnumber women by a considerable margin in terms of registered voters, the gap between the two genders has fallen below 10m.-ECP data difference of over five million, followed by Sindh (2.24m), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (1.96m), and Balochistan (0.660m). The total number of registered voters in Punjab stands at 73.20m, including 39.12m (53.44pc) male and 34.09m (46.56pc) female voters

3. Discovery of pre-Buddhist monument sheds new light on Swat`s history

International and national archaeologists have unearthed a pre-Buddhist sacred monument dating back to 4th century BC, the century in which Alexander invaded Swat, during the recent excavations in Bazira Barikot area of the district.
The excavations are conducted by Italian Archaeological Mission in Pakistan in collaboration with provincial archaeology and museums department. The staff of archaeology and museums department and students of local universities and Jahanzeb College also take part in it

4. Bulldozers crush Gazans sheltering outside hospital

The Israeli military has bulldozed displaced Palestinians who were camped outside the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, killing scores of civilians, including women and children, who were still sleeping in their tents when the demolition occurred.

5. Israel, Hamas open to truce but obstacles remain

Two Egyptian security sources said on Sunday that Israel and Hamas are both open to a renewed ceasefire and prisoner release, although disagreements remain on how it would be implemented.
Egypt and Qatar, which had previously negotiated a week-long ceasefire and prisoner release, insisted on expediting aid and the opening of the Kerem Shalom crossing before any negotiations could begin, the sources said
