7. Houthis threaten to hit US ships if Yemen is attacked
The leader of Yemen`s Houthis warned on Wednesday they would strike US warships if the militia was targeted by Washington, which this week set up a multinational force to counter attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
The Houthis, who control vast amounts of territory in Yemen after years of war, have since last month fired drones and missiles at international vessels sailing through the Red Sea, attacks it says respond to Israel`s assault on the Gaza Strip
8. ILO says 66pc jobs lost, fears more losses
At least 66 per cent of jobs have been lost in Gaza since the Israel-Hamas conflict erupted in October, the International Labour (ILO) said on Wednesday, warning that employment losses could continue to increase in the enclave.
The losses amount to a total of 192,000 jobs in the small Palestinian territory, the ILO said in its second assessment of the impact of Israeli ground and air strikes on Gaza which began after a deadly cross-border incursion by Hamas gunmen on Oct. 7

10. EU agrees `historic` reform of asylum laws
The European Union (EU) on Wednesday agreed to an overhaul of its asylum system that includes more border detention centres and speedier deportations, prompting migrant charities to slam the changes as `dangerous`.
But EU governments, officials and MEPs hailed the preliminary accord on the bloc`s new pact on asylum and migration as `historic`, saying it updated procedures to handle growing irregular arrivals while maintaining respect of human rights
