1. American statements detrimental to Pak-US relationship: cabinet
   • The federal cabinet observed that recent statements by the American leadership were detrimental to the Pakistan-US relationship that had developed over generations
   • The cabinet unanimously endorsed the stance of the NSC which had expressed deep disappointment over the statements of the US leadership
2. SC to focus on human rights cases this year
   • Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar outlined the Supreme Court`s agenda for 2018 and said the court would be focusing on human rights issues

   • Norway has suspended exports of weapons and ammunition to the United Arab Emirates over concerns they could be used in the war in Yemen
   • The UAE is part of a Saudi-led coalition formed in 2015 to fight the Iranaligned Houthi group that controls most of northern Yemen and the capital Sanaa
