War is Never a Lasting Solution For Any Problem

[mks_button size=”medium” title=”By: ZOHAIB KHAN” style=”squared” url=”#” target=”_self” bg_color=”#8224e3″ txt_color=”#FFFFFF” icon=”” icon_type=”” nofollow=”0″]

It is irrational to compare and contrast the intensity of nuclear and other deadly weapons on both sides. Weapons at their disposal are enough to plunge millions of people into the shackles of miseries and starvation on both sides. Both nations will also suffer owing to their economic predicament: one is at a crucial economic scenario while other is growing rapidly. Likewise, Pakistan is home to 208m while India consists of 1.34bn people. Currently, trade between South Asian neighbors is around $3bn. However, their potential is $37bn (World Bank 2018). Such an immense potential, if realized, would make this region developed, prosperous and attractive for rest of the world. Moreover, both countries can cooperate in issues like terrorism, climate change, poverty eradication, illiteracy, water scarcity, security, sustainable development and what not.

Air-Strikes Minus Diplomacy (By: Dr.Zeeshan Khan)

Once Ralph Waldo Emerson-an American essayist, lecturer, philosopher, and poet who led the transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century said,” For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind.” Truth they say is the first casualty in war, in some cases in peace time too. But yelling and screaming TV anchors painted a picture in India of such precise details as though they were watching everything from the cockpits of Mirage planes. Media is not always helpless or bereft of resources to independently verify the truth.

It was difficult to find a journalist on Tuesday on Indian TV who would be asking questions and scrutinising the narrative from both sides instead of giving lectures in patriotism from the pulpit their newsroom has become but with the exception of certain liberal and literate voices.

Sample Page of Pakistan Affairs Notes for CSS Aspirants

In 1600 C.E. East India Company was established in England. Queen Elizabeth granted the charter to East India Company to trade in areas East of Africa. This included Sub-continent, Indonesia, and Malaysia etc. In the start the East India Company tried their luck in islands of Indonesia but they were unable to extract desirable profits from there. To make trading more difficult they had a formidable opposition in the form of Dutch. The Islands of Indonesia were already claimed by Dutch and Portuguese. In 1623 an incident permanently convinced British to turn towards India. Twenty one men were killed by Dutch in Amboyna out of which ten were the servants of British East India Company, the incident in known as Amboyna Massacre.
