Seerah of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) As Educator | CSS Islamic Studies Notes

According to the Quran, the Prophet (PBUH) is responsible for tabligh (delivering the message): “O Messenger, proclaim the (message) which hath been sent to thee from thy Lord. If thou didst not, thou wouldst not have fulfilled and proclaimed His mission. And Allah will defend thee from men (who mean mischief). For Allah guided not those who reject Faith.” (Al-Maida 5/67). “The Messenger’s duty is but to proclaim (the message). But Allah knoweth all that ye reveal and ye conceal” (Al-Maida 5/99). The lexicographical meaning of “tabligh” is to deliver, inform, and spread. As a term, it points to the Prophet’s delivering the message to humans exactly as he received it from Allah. This is one of the inalienable qualities of prophets. If the thing to be delivered is information, a message, or news, then teaching is an issue, as well. In fact, some dictionaries define “tabligh” as teaching. This shows the relation between “tabligh” and teaching.

All through his life, he was always conscious of maintaining cordial relations between Muslims and other communities. The Holy Prophet (PBUH), for the first time, came into contact with foreign world during his teenage when he went on a trade journey to Syria along with his uncle Hazrat Abu Talib. Then, during his youth he again went to Syria as a trade agent of Hazrat Khadijah (R.A). The Holy Prophet (PBUH) showed great attributes during these journeys. Hazrat Khadijah (R.A), a rich and highly influential businesswoman of that time, was so much impressed that she sent proposal for marriage to the Prophet (PBUH) that was accepted. Seerah of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) As Individual | CSS Islamic Studies

CSS Islamic Studies | Seerah of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) As Individual

Born on the 12th of the Islamic month of Rabbi-ul-awwal in Makkah, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was born in the darkest times of Arabia. There was no concept of religion; people worshipped idols made of stones, trees, rivers, the sun and even the moon. Heinous acts such as murder, rape, adultery, gambling was of the norm back then. Female infants were buried alive and grown women were treated as objects. During a dark time like this, where all the attractions of that sinful world were tempting enough to sway any person from the path of righteousness, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) grew up with totally different beliefs about that community as compared to other people. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) lost his father before his birth and then his mother at the age of 6 and his loving grandfather as well at the age of 8. He was then brought up under the protection of his uncle.

Profile of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)| Introduction

Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) was born in 570 CE (Common Era) in the city of Mecca in the Arabian Peninsula, part of modern day Saudi Arabia. As his father had died shortly after marriage, his grandfather ‘Abd al-Muttalib became his guardian. ‘Abd al-Muttalib was the respected head of the clan of Hashim and the tribe of Quraysh, to which his clan belonged. With the Quraysh being the biggest and most influential tribe in Mecca, ‘Abd al-Muttalib was seen as the master of all of Mecca. The Quraysh had a special status in Mecca because they used to be in charge of the sacred Ka’ba. The Qur’an tells us that this holy edifice was built by Prophets Abraham and his son Ishmael: Profile of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

And when Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations of the House [Abraham prayed]: “Our Lord! Accept from us; surely You are the Hearing, the Knowing (2.127). Our Lord! Make us Muslims and raise from our offspring a nation of Muslims. Show us our ways of worship, and relent toward us. Surely, Your are the Relenting, the Merciful” (2.128).

The Islamic Concept of Administration | (Solved CSS 2016 Islamic Studies Paper)

The Islamic Concept of Administration
(Solved CSS 2016 Islamic Studies Paper)

The concept of a system of administration in Islam is quite different from that in the western world. Islam is a complete code of life and encircles all human activities. Life according to Islam is a constant struggle to overcome satanic propensities running in human blood. Islam is not a utopia of unrealizable ideas and it firmly expounds that an administration should keep a strict watch over his thoughts and actions. It emphasizes inner purity of soul because it provides social harmony in society and engenders self-discipline. Islam, in fact, laid down the foundation of a sound system of administration on. Islam emphasis certain intrinsic qualities which an administrator must possess. These are also regarded as the cohesive characteristic features which Islam has put forward for a perfect and excellent administrative system. First among them is “Honesty”, a moral quality which influences the individuals to refrain from inflicting injuries on others by cheating. Dishonestly breeds aversion. Pollutes social life. Degenerates politics and corrupts administration.

The majestic Qur’an | Read for CSS Islamic Studies

By: Akbar Ahmed

As a schoolboy in the hills of Abbottabad, Iread Marmaduke Pickthall’stranslation of the Holy Quran, and its stirring introduction has stayed with me to this day. Pickthall wrote:“The Qur’an cannot be translated…The book is here rendered almost literally and every effort has been made to choose befitting language. But the result is not the Glorious Qur’an, that inimitable symphony, the very sounds of which move men to tears and ecstasy. It is only an attempt to present the meaning of the Qur’an—and peradventure something of the charm in English. It can never take the place of the Qur’an in Arabic, nor is it meant to do so.”

The Meaning of the Glorious Koran was published in 1930 after authorisation from Al-Azhar University and Pickthall, a convert to Islam, had become the first Muslim Englishman to translate the Quran. It remains popular among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
